PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

The Sony FX6 is a special camera, and we wanted the KONDOR BLUE FX6 Cage to reflect the same thought and intent for its users. From built-in NDs to powerful autofocus, this camera packs a punch in a small form factor, but that also presents a challenge for rigging. That’s why we designed the Sony FX6 Cage to be as modular as possible, matching and magnifying the user's needs without adding unnecessary bulk and weight.

The main body of the Cage is the Top Plate, which is separated into three sections: Left, Center, and Right Plates. When the Center Plate is removed, the Original Sony top handle comfortably cradles between the Left and Right Plates. We know that each shoot is unique, and so are your rig buildout needs. That’s why each mounting bolt is held captive in the plates making them easy to remove without having to worry about losing bolts. Each plate is equipped with mounting pads and carefully cored to reduce weight without sacrificing strength. 

Above all, we wanted to ensure that the mounting points were highly functional and strategically placed. For instance, the Left Plate features an angled wing with multiple ¼ 20 ARRI style mounts to angle accessories away from the top handle. There’s even a Sony 8T/ARRI-style mount that is vertically integrated in the perfect position for running the Sony Monitor off the back of the cage. 

The Right Plate is also loaded with fun features such as relocating the Sony sensor plane bolt, NATO rail, and more mounts. To expand the camera’s functionality, we created a 15mm Rod to NATO adapter that connects via a mountable 15mm Rod Clamp. And of course, it features the KONDOR BLUE signature bubble level at the top of the rod. This combo is special! The slot in the rod mount not only keeps it super light, but serves as a safety channel for a 3mm bolt to be mounted into the Rod to NATO. This allows users the flexibility to pivot the rail to their desired orientation without the fear of the rail slipping under load. Accessories can either be mounted directly to the rail or slipped over the bottom safety pin. The rail/accessory combo can then be pivoted out of the way of the Sony Grip. 

To top it off, the KONDOR BLUE Sony FX6 Cage is loaded with pro mounts—in fact, there are over 20 ARRI-style mounts with at least one anti-twist pin hole. This makes secure mounting fast and easy with single-bolt accessories. The back of the Top Plates also features two ARRI Style mounts that are 60mm apart for 15mm rod accessories. Mounting the KONDOR BLUE Gold or V-Mount battery plates off of the Top Plate is a great solution for keeping the rig run-and-gun. Users can still run the Sony battery and pivot the battery plate away when needed.
